The United Kingdom; one of the first-world countries, modern, industrialized, with a strong appearance to the world and great influence, which seems like the dream country for foreign individuals from less favorable areas. However, one thing that society has improved their learning on, is that appearances can cheat, and in the UK’s case, the BBC is one of the main contributors that have distributed this lesson. BBC, the UK’s national broadcaster, who used its communication power and status to expose one of the UK’s concerns and took the initiative to make a change for the better regarding the matter. They named it ‘Children in Need’. As the name states is a charity designed and launched in 1980 to aid the less privileged youngsters in the country. These children face adversities from physical, mental, and sensorial disabilities to psychological and behavioural dysfunctions. The BBC approaches this fundraising through an annual event in which the whole of the UK contributes with donations, which can variate from a regular household to celebrities and big corporations. The benefaction collected is then distributed to intermediates who interact directly with the children and support their needs.
